The Charleston Beach Music and Shag Festival this year is August 25 & 26. It will be held at the Embassy Suites in North Charleston AND in the Ballroom of the Charleston Area Performing Arts.
This year we have the Castaways Band, Rickey Godfrey Band, and the Carolina Soul Band on Saturday and the Fantastic Shakers , Johnny Rawls Blues Band and the Mighty Joe Pope Tams on Sunday !
The Beach Music and Shag Preservation Clubhouse doors open at 6:30 Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday This is the only shag and beach music Clubhouse in the Charleston area. There is No Smoking and we have the best floor in town!
Our weekly schedule is Basic I and Basic II on Tuesdays at 7:00 and 7:45 Lessons start over the first Tuesday of each month and go four weeks
You must sign up online to participate. Members may pay the first Tuesday night of the month.
Thursdays Intermediate Lessons at 7:30 Dancing for all after lessons on Tuesdays and Thursdays (8:30) until 11:30
We teach Juniors on Mondays at 4 and Have a teen club on Saturday a month at 4PM
DJs and Dancing every Friday and Saturday from 6:30 until wee hours!
You must be a member or be signed in by a member Non members pay $5 Members are free!
Membership is $100 a year Members have no admission fee and they get 10 % off the dance lessons and also 10% off of events !
